The Pink Cricket Restaurant in Lancaster Ohio was started in 1938 by a man named D.B. Shaffer. As the story goes, he and his grandchildren loved Pinochio and their favorite character was Jiminy Cricket. With pink neon lights around the building and copyright laws being what they were, The Pink Cricket was born.
Today the Pink Cricket is owned and operated by Paul Hoch Sr. and Paul Hoch Jr. Since 2000, they have been the care takers of Lancaster's longest continually operating restaurant and the pizza that made it famous. From the days of Grandma Harvey putting pizzas on cardboard circles and sliding them into brown paper bags. The Pink Cricket Restaurant has been a favorite of locals and destination for out-of-towners. We remain loyal to the original recipe and way of doing things and hope you'll come by and see the difference for yourself.
